About ChrissyOur family loves to travel! We love to help families travel. I can still remember when my first two "littles" were only 13 months old and 27 months old when we took them on their first big adventure to Walt Disney World in Florida. We were so scared. Originally, we had planned my grandmother and her sister to join us, but they backed out at the last minute. (Please take this as a lesson to NOT wait! Do it now! When you're approaching 80 years, or are in your 80's, planning something 9 months or more out, unfortunately, is never a guarantee.) By the time our trip rolled around, they were not physically able to make the trip and so my hubby and I were on our own with two littles for five nights of fun. It was WAY more fun than we expected. "Wasn't it exhausting?" you ask. Of course! We were SO tired, but the most fun and tired we've ever been. A few months later we decided to take advantage of our passes from Jason's dad being a retired Delta pilot and head for the Caribbean on a stand-by flight. With an 18-month-old and 3-year-old in tow, we headed for Aruba. It was glorious. Guess what we did the next December? We went to the other coast to Disneyland, of course! This time our Disney vacation was for seven nights instead of five. SO FUN! And so began our annual December visits to a Disney Destination, on either coast, which continues to this day. We found people were asking us what we did at Disney, how we planned, where we stayed, what to eat, and so on and so on… Becoming travel agents was the best next step to put our knowledge, passion for travel, and years of experience to work. Originally, I wanted to be a travel agent just to fund my travel addiction, but 11 years later this business has brought us experiences from both clients and agents, enriching moments, friendships, tears, and celebrations we could have never dreamed would happen. Being a part of our client's journey is one of the most rewarding jobs I can imagine. Yes, we work long hours, we probably make nothing per hour if you break it down, but we LOVE what we do, we love teaching others to travel, and we love traveling to new places all the time! Our experience has expanded, and we do enjoy the Caribbean, especially Beaches and Sandals Resorts most. We hope to soon be able to say we have visited every Sandals and every Beaches resort like we can say for Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Aulani, and Disneyland Paris. Mark my words, visiting ever Beaches and Sandals resort WILL happen. Our love for Beaches and Sandals Resorts is not to be outdone by our passion for cruising. At first, we could only cruise Disney Cruise Line. Every member of our family is a Platinum Castaway Club member. Yes, we've done it that many times. Disney Cruise is AMAZING. There is not much that compares for a true "Disnerd." BUT! We have found that there is value in the cruise lines beyond Disney, too. We have personally found the joy, the value, the relaxation of many other cruise lines to be great, too, for different reasons and we would love to share the why's and how's of other cruise lines with you, too! Favorite Place to Travel: I honestly feel like I'm "home" when I get to the Magic Kingdom. I often wish I could just sit and watch people and just "feel" the Magic Kingdom, with no agenda and no schedule. Besides the feeling of being in the Magic Kingdom, the feeling of the past, the future and fantasy, I LOVE being in the World Showcase at Epcot. I LOVE the culture, the variety, and feeling like I've been out of this world for at least a day. Epcot never disappoints. Besides being at Disney, put me on a cruise ship, any cruise ship, anywhere. I LOVE to cruise. I cruise like it's my job. Wait? It is! How lucky am I?! I love to cruise. Best Thing I've Ever Eaten on Vacation: When thinking back to that thing that I put in my mouth that was beyond comprehension, honestly, my first thought is a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown in Montreal. OMG. We ate there three times in one week. It was FABULOUS. The second place, sadly now closed, is Union Fare in Manhattan. Best bakery. Best "Draft Latte." Best EVERYTHING we tried while my daughter danced with American Ballet Theater for six weeks one summer. It was our FAVORITE. Next, I have to give a shout out to the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. There are so many flavors. You can forget about food boredom! And you read that right, I said the Flower and Garden Festival, not the Food and Wine Festival. I like both, but the Flower and Garden is the freshest, funnest, and my favorite! Best Part About Being A Travel Agent:The best part of my job is the people. I'm an only child with a relatively small family. I feel like my family cup OVERFLOWS through the experiences with my clients. I live through them, pray for them, laugh with them, and cry with and for them. I feel a part of their life while they are planning and am honestly a little sad when the vacation is over because I won't know what is happening in their life anymore. My clients enrich my life, both with their story, with their travels, and their celebrations, some with their pocket book which is not mine but exciting to see someone else experience. I love knowing about engagements, weddings, kids getting to finally meet their favorite character for the first time, sending people on their first cruise KNOWING it will not be their last. All is not always happy. We've had clients pass away before a trip travels, and even clients who have divorced since I first booked them. My heart hurts for these families, but through the joy and sorrow my life is enriched to know them, pray for them, and wish them the best in life. Call 855-939-4328 ext 1522.
