About Lisa

Hello! My name is Lisa Segarra, and I am now working my dream job as a Full-Time Travel Advisor and planner! After having an amazing career working for over 20 years in education and mental health, I am so thrilled to be in my second career helping others plan their dream vacations where they get to make memories and get away from the stressors of their day-to-day responsibilities! As part of my services, I listen to my clients’ wish lists for their vacations, put together organized itineraries for them, gather all of their travel documents for them, and handle the details involved in booking and planning the specifics.

I have a passion for working with families with special needs and feel that my background working in special education allows me to know the right questions to ask and considerations to make for others. I am particularly sensitive to those with sensory, mobility, or special dietary needs.

I consider Cruise Vacations, Group Travel, Disney Destinations and, Universal Studios my specialties. I truly enjoy researching, planning and exploring so this career choice has been a true dream come true! I am so grateful that you are considering me as your travel planner and look forward to talking with you about your wish list for your vacation!

My favorite place to travel:

My favorite destination so far has been ALASKA! I am such a warm weather person but Alaska was breathtaking, peaceful, gorgeous, and so welcoming all the same! My husband and I took a Land and Sea Cruisetour through Princess Cruise Lines and would do it again in a heartbeat!

In general, I absolutely LOVE cruising! This is where I truly get to unwind while all the cooking, cleaning, and activities are planned for me and my family onboard! My favorite is when my whole family and friends can travel together especially during a holiday like Halloween! I truly love packing once and arriving in different destinations or countries! The Bahamas, Alaska, the Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos, Mexico, Puerto Rico, private islands, you name it! I’m in!

Along with cruising, Walt Disney World will always be a favorite place of mine. This is where the majority of our traveling was to while raising our family! I’ve been more times than I could ever possibly remember. We share so many memories, and I LOVE how even now after so many years, every time we visit, it’s a different experience! Disney set a foundation for our family to bond while we travel and even when the world would get rough at times, one trip to Disney and it was all better! We even traveled there during COVID. That’s the Disney Magic! We spend time in the parks but also enjoy all the dining and activities offered, as well as the waterparks and Disney Springs. We’ve also loved riding Sea Racers in Bay Lake, fishing, playing in the pools, taking a pirate fireworks cruise in the bay, playing Disney Mini-Golf, using the exercise facilities, riding bikes at the campgrounds, watching Boardwalk and Disney Spring performers and experiencing the many delicious foods offered by Disney just to name a few! Oh the tips I can share! Disney World is so much more than the theme parks and a true family vacation experience!

Another favorite place has been Castaway Cay (through Disney Cruise Line)-Every time we go, we are awe-struck by the beautiful clear blue water! A favorite memory has been snorkeling and finding all the hidden treasures under the water like the Dumbo ride and Prince Eric! When down time comes, there’s nothing like laying in the sun while breathing in the warm ocean air and eating their delicious BBQ. Where else can we get grilled salmon, burgers, casseroles, fresh brownies, and fruit on a private island made for us?

Overall, my favorite places have been those where quality time and plenty of memories can be made with family and friends. As a travel advisor helping others make their own memories and seeing the pictures they share has been my favorite part of this job!

Best Thing I’ve Ever Eaten on Vacation:

I am such a foodie so this can be a challenging one! I think of so many things with this question. I loved the food at Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort in Aruba, all of it… I can’t wait to go back and have more! I come back for the filet mignon at Be Our Guest again and again at Disney World. The Birria tacos and shrimp tacos and margaritas at Iberostar Paraiso’s shopping center in Cancun were just sooo good! I got a few helpings of the beef ragu at Sandal’s Dunns River in Jamaica as well as the Jamaican coffee at the Blu coffee bar (the best!) I could go on and on but now I want to go back to these places to get these foods!

Best Part about being A Travel Advisor:

The best part is seeing the pictures that my clients send me when they’re on their vacations or when they’ve returned and hearing about how it has been a trip they will never forget! Being a travel advisor combines my great love of travel and my love for helping others reach their vacation dreams! When I work with my clients I want to hear about their “wish list” for their vacation, what they like to do, what their loved ones like, and any special considerations they may have. I want to do whatever I can to help them attain everything they could have dreamt for their vacation while I make the planning easier for them by making the arrangements, making the calls, and planning the details in between so that nothing is missed. I look forward to talking with you!
